Dan Dooley is not a Professional Photographer in the sense that a professional photographer earns his entire, or even a substantial percentage of his income from the work of photography. Another definition of the phrase can be taken to mean one who takes a vocation seriously enough to apply professional standards to his or her practice of that vocation. If that is an accepted meaning of the term Professional Photographer, then he will gladly claim it.
Dan has studied and practiced the art of photography for many years. Never quick to label himself an expert, he has been an advanced and mostly self taught student of the art and out of that study has come a respectable degree of technical competence. In the same spirit he hopes to excel in artistic competence. That is a work in process.
Dan has chosen not to pursue common photography activities such as weddings, portraiture, fashion, glamor, or studio work where the photo subject is people. That is not because of any distaste for the subject material but rather lacking an interest in that style of work. He prefers to specialize in nature photography which includes landscapes and scenery, wildlife, flowers and macro subjects.
Dan possesses significant experience in the technical training field both in a classroom and small group or one on one tutoring and he brings that interest and background to his photography endeavors, both through on line outlets such as this blog, his Web site Dan Dooley Photography, and his Facebook presence. On Facebook, you can find him at searching Facebook for “Dan Dooley Photography”.
Dan Dooley Photography currently lists a large and growing collection of high quality professionally produced photography prints for sale. These are professionally photo lab printed and are backmounted and ready for framing or otherwise displayed.
